Journals- 3rd 6 weeks

When do you put yourself at risk: What do you consider deviant behavior? Where do you interfere in a friends life? what circumstance and is it your place? Would you risk a friendship to save a friend who was abusing drugs? Do you think teens have a greater influence on other teens or do adult influence them more?

Wish List: Perfect guy/girl  Make a cart listing characteristics of your perfect guy or girl.  One side should have physical attributes and the other side should include seasonality, beliefs, etc.

Journals- 2nd six weeks

Where do you fit in: Do people judge more on achieved status or ascribed status? Can you fit into more than one group? In high school, is it easy to change from one clique to another? How are groups determined? As you get older, do you outgrow cliques?

Seinology 2: (Read pages 71-77)  ANSWER ALL! What is the difference between a primary and secondary group? What do you feel is the most important aspect of a friendship? What role do you play in your primary group?

Top 10 ways to raiser a juvenile delinquent: make list

Are teens really being safer?: What do the trends tell us? Should we be worried about teen behavior? Should teens have perfect behavior all of the time- why?

If Hitler asked you to electrocute a stranger: Honestly, what would you do if you were a subject in Migram;s experiment? What does this tell us about human behavior? Is it good to be so obedient? What it your response to the experiment?

Jonestown- What can we learn from Jim Jones and the People's Temple? Should this "incident" be studied in classes other than Sociology?  What's your general reaction to Jonestown and/or the video we saw?

Seinology 1: You must answer ALL the following: What is a theory? Using page 30 - What is a norm? What is the difference between a folkway, more, and a law? Choose one to answer: What is common sense and is it the same to everyone? How can a show about nothing be about everything?

CBS 9/11: Where were you on 9/11? What is our nation's perception of a hero? How should be continue to remember this event and how should we teach our children about it? Reaction to the video?

Social IQ: Do you agree with the author that you are born with your social IQ? Do you think you can improve your social IQ?  Does your generation, the Millenials, have a higher IQ that previous generations? do you think it is better to have a higher social IQ or academic IQ?
