Hearing and Vision Screeners Needed!

The PTSA is set to do Hearing and Vision Screening at Walton on Thursday , Oct 4 and Friday, Oct 5--but we need 5 more volunteers to go to training on September 5!

The Training is next week on Wed September 5 at Palmer Middle School. Vision Training is 8:30-10:30 am and Hearing Training is 10:30- 12:00 pm. There is a group planning to carpool to the training.

Open House/ PTSA Student Directory Deadline

Remember to come to Open House tonight! Freshman Parents have a meeting on WEB at 6:30 pm. Zero Period is at 6:50 pm and First Period is at 7:00 pm. Ask your student for a copy of their schedule today so you will know where to go--but, don't worry if you don't have one as they will be available in the hall just past the media center leading to the commons area.

The PTSA will be set up in the Commons selling PTSA memberships and calendars and taking directory information and orders. Our deadline for the directory information is September 7! Our PTSA Registration form with this information on it can be downloaded from the Walton Website. Go to Quick Links under Files and Documents then to Forms and then to PTSA Forms. We have also attached a copy to this e-blast.

We are still taking artwork for the contest to design the cover of this year's Student Directory! Please see the attached instructions for submitting entries. The deadline is September 5.

Join Habitat for Humanity

"How to Succeed in Math" 8/23 in Theater

All 9th grade parents are invited and encouraged to attend a presentation on 'How to Succeed in Math' this Thursday evening (8/23)at 7 pm in the Walton Theater.

First E-Blast using New Website/E-News System

You are receiving the first E-Blast from Walton's new Website/E-News System!

Walton's new Website is up and running at www.waltonhigh.org! Thanks to all involved in making this new website a reality..more on that later....

When we loaded the e-mails into the new system we put them under your students' names- that is why this E-blast is addressed to your student. We have three major categories of news: emergency, general and grade specific (e.g. 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th). We enrolled everyone in emergency, general and for the grade specific news of each of your children. You can easily go in and edit your information using the instructions at the bottom of this E-blast. There is even an option to receive text messages.

Tomorrow we will add a quick link: 'subscribe to e-news' on the home page of the Web site that will allow anyone to self-subscribe to E-news.

We will be saving copies of all E-Blasts in the PTSA News Blog on the Website. They will be archived by month.

We hope the new school year is off to a great start for everyone!!

Parent Volunteers needed next Mon 8/6 and Tues 8/7

Many Hands Make Work Light!

Help!!!  Volunteers needed next week:   Monday,  August 6 and Tuesday, August 7!

We need  parent volunteers to help supervise students that will be assembling

the "student information folders" that go home with each student the first week of school.

We have two shifts each day Monday and Tuesday 9 am-12 pm and 12 pm -3 pm. 

Please contact Kathy VanderBroek  if you can do one of these shifts.

Meet and Greet/Freshman Orientation Next Week

In the hot and hazy days of Summer---

the dogs lie about, the flowers are in full bloom, the temperature and humidity soar and...school is starting!!

You should have received a PTSA mailing with our sign up and order forms for membership, calendars and directories.  Please send those forms back in to Pre-Register ASAP!  They need to be mailed by 8/3 to be processed as Pre-Registration. 

Meet and Greet/ Freshman Orientation are next week Wednesday, August 8!

Here's the schedule for that day:

8:30 am-- Freshman Orientation and Brief General PTSA Meeting (Budget Approval)

                    Freshman are directed to homerooms and their parents are meeting in the         Gymnasium

11:00 am--Upper Grades come to pick up their schedules

8:30-12:00 pm--

PTSA memberships, calendar and directory order forms will be available in the Commons. 

Learn about other groups like Parent Corps, purchase football tix, check bus schedules, purchase Spirit Shop items and more!!

If you have pre-registered for PTSA items--come pick up your PTSA cards and Calendars--

otherwise, we send them home the end of the first week of school through your students homeroom. 

The lines for pre-registered pick-ups are very short so Parents if you can't make it

--send your student in to pick up your pre-orders!!
