Program at Lassiter: A Teen's Guide to GA Law 2/21/08 at 7pm

Please see the following announcement from the Lassiter PTSA:

Special Presentation

Ignorance is No Defense - A Teenager’s Guide to Georgia Law

By J. Tom Morgan

J. Tom Morgan is a nationally recognized expert on the prosecution of crimes against children and served as the District Attorney of DeKalb County, Georgia for twelve years.

Lassiter PTSA is pleased to provide an opportunity for students and parents to hear Mr. Morgan speak.

There will be an evening session for students and parents on February 21st at 7:00 pm in the Lassiter Theater.

If you would be interested in attending this event and would like to purchase a copy of the book, please RSVP to Terry Fast, thefast4@bellsouth.net.

We need a head count in order to purchase enough books! We will have the books available for only $10 - a substantial savings! If you have a teenager, this book is a must-read.

Through real-life examples, Ignorance is No Defense explains Georgia laws to teenagers in easy-to-understand language.

With a primary focus on criminal laws, Ignorance is No Defense not only describes what the law requires but also teenagers’ rights under the law.

Author J.Tom Morgan, a highly respected former prosecutor and experienced trial lawyer, provides straightforward information and valuable insights to help teenagers avoid violating the law and avoid being victims of crime.

As parents, we rarely have the opportunity to hear such a distinguished, professional speaker on such an important topic.

Please consider spending only ONE HOUR of your time to help your child understand the laws that are on the books and what the consequences may be.

We hope to see you at Lassiter on February 21st at 7 pm!
